Recovery First Welcomes New Executive Director Scott Frankel
We’re proud to welcome Scott Frankel as our new Executive Director. With more than 25 years of leadership experience in behavioral health and addiction recovery, Frankel brings a strong track record of operational excellence and program development to the organization.
In his role as Executive Director, Frankel will focus on expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals and families across South Florida. His approach is shaped not only by decades of professional experience, but also by a deeply personal connection to the mission.
Turning Personal Loss Into Purpose in Addiction Recovery
“I lost a close friend and bandmate to addiction while we were on tour, and that loss changed the direction of my life,” Frankel shared. “It made me realize there was a greater purpose in using my skills to help others find recovery and hope. Everything I’ve done since has been driven by the belief that people deserve access to care that truly saves lives.”
Experience Driving Growth in Addiction Treatment
Throughout his career, Frankel has helped launch multiple behavioral health start-ups and has served as CEO for several leading organizations in the field. He also maintains a hands-on, clinical perspective, holding certifications as a Certified Interventionist and Trainer, Certified Crisis Counselor, Certified Hypnotherapist, and Certified Recovery Coach.
His commitment to service has earned him recognition at the highest levels, including the New York City Mayor’s Community Council Award and the NYPD Humanitarian Award.
Frankel’s educational background reflects his multidisciplinary approach to leadership. He holds a Master of Science from the International College of Polygraph Science, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Kean University, and a Healthcare Management Certificate from Cornell University.
Looking Ahead at Recovery First
As Recovery First continues to grow its programs and reach, Frankel’s leadership marks an important step forward in expanding compassionate, effective care for those seeking recovery. This commitment extends beyond leadership and into the patient experience itself.
Frankel has expanded Recovery First’s programming to support whole-person healing. The recently introduced Music & Creative Expression program offers patients a powerful outlet for emotional processing, identity development, and self-expression. Through creative work, individuals are able to reconnect with their voice and build a stronger sense of self in recovery.
