Oluwafunmilayo (Funmi) Shodeko serves as the Clinical Manager for the residential program at Recovery First and joined the AAC family in 2022. As a licensed mental health counselor, a national certified counselor and a qualified supervisor in the state of Florida, Funmi utilizes an eclectic approach in meeting the needs of clients that encompasses cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, person centered and psychodynamic therapy. She has worked in the field of behavioral healthcare since 2013 and started her career as an intern with the homeless population.
Being of service remains one of her core values as individuals and the community at large work towards building a meaningful and purposeful life. Funmi holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Women’s Studies from Florida International university and a Master’s in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
