Reasons to Choose Recovery First
Recovery First: Your Best Choice for Treatment
You can trust our treatments.
There are so many reasons to choose Recovery First for your or your loved one’s care.
Accredited Programs
Recovery First is a program you can choose with confidence. Our programs are accredited by The Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
Quality Clinical Program
When you come to Recovery First, you can count on a qualified, experienced team. Recovery First has a high-quality clinical staff made up of master’s-level licensed or license-eligible therapists. Our staff includes clinicians trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and motivational interviewing (MI).
Our program is based on the 8 dimensions of wellness, and the Embracing Change: Recovery for Life dual diagnosis curriculum designed specifically for individuals receiving treatment with American Addiction Centers.
Here, You’re Family
At Recovery First, we keep our groups small and personal. You won’t feel like a number here—you’ll feel like family. In fact, many of our alumni keep in touch with the people they met at Recovery First. The people you go through treatment with here may just become your recovery family that you lean on well beyond your time here.
In-Network with Many Policies
We know that treatment saves lives, and we want to make treatment as accessible as possible. We are in-network with many policies, and we’ll do the heavy lifting for you when it comes to getting the best coverage for your stay at Recovery First. Verify your benefits quickly and for free.
We have treatments and therapies for everyone.
Community-based Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
We offer a community-based intensive outpatient program (IOP) at our Hollywood location on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:00 pm- 9:00 pm.
Transportation is offered to clients within a certain radius.
Day Treatment, a.k.a. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP was formulated to provide an intensive level of treatment to a patient, but not require them to live at the facility during treatment. Day treatment can often be another step in recovery following residential treatment. You begin to establish a sense of freedom while still being held accountable by our medical staff.
If you are admitted to Recovery First’s PHP program, but do not live in the area, we will assist with setting you up with a state-accredited sober living facility. The hours of clinical services for PHP are Monday through Friday 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Dedicated Treatment for Veterans/First Responders
We offer a specialized residential treatment program focused on the care of veterans and first responders struggling with addiction. The program includes 10-12 designated group therapy sessions with a master’s-level license-eligible therapist who is both a former police officer and a grief and loss specialist.
We also work in tandem with the local VA to assist veterans with additional resources.
Designated Program for Healthcare Professionals (PRN/IPN)
Healthcare professionals receiving treatment with us work with a designated clinician for individual and group therapy (at all locations). The same therapist will follow the client and ensure that all referral protocols (including required monitoring) are completed in order to assist with the client’s successful transition back to work.
Family Program
Families are extremely important to a person’s recovery. We bring the family into the treatment process in our family program. Our licensed marriage and family therapist travels to all Recovery First locations, engaging with clients and their families and providing education on family systems and the overall impact addiction has on the family. We host a 2-day family program every 3 weeks for family members to engage fully in the recovery process with education and support.
Exceptional staff guides your recovery.
Accomplished Medical Director
Recovery First’s Medical Director, Dr. Richard Seely, holds 5 board certifications, including in adult/child psychiatry and addictionology. He is an officer for the Board of Directors for the Florida Society of Addiction Medicine and the psychiatric and addictions consultant for the Florida Board of Bar Examiners.
Dr. Seely is also in recovery himself. He is 31 years clean and sober and still an active participant in 12-step recovery.
Caring, Experienced Nursing Team
Our nursing staff consists primarily of registered nurses with years of substance abuse and mental health experience. During medical detox, our nursing team provides 24/7 medical oversight to our clients to ensure safety during the entire process.
Perks include outdoor activities and proximity to the beach.
Clients in our residential program may visit the park and beach during downtime on the weekends. Additionally, outings such as paddle boarding, fishing at the beach, and bowling are offered to help clients experience fun in recovery.
You!
63% of our patients at American Addiction Centers’ facilities — Recovery First’s parent company — are sober 12 months after treatment. The industry average is 30%. But without the commitment of our patients and alumni to the programs we offer, we wouldn’t have any of it. You and patients just like you help to create a growing recovery community.
