Behavioral Health Tech Team

Our Behavioral Health Technician staff is totally committed to helping clients get that the most they can out of their treatment experience.

They are the first line of defense when a client is in Post Acute Withdrawal and feels like leaving treatment; interrupting that thinking and helping them get past it by reminding them why they are here. No one gets better when they leave treatment early, and our staff is especially good at keeping clients focused on their treatment processes.

At Recovery First, our BHT staff is a cut above; they ensure the safety of each and every client on a daily basis. When clients are not in group, they are constantly monitoring them by sight and sound, making sure that all of their needs are met.

	Alan Buncher, CSAC, AA, BHT Training Alan got into the Addiction Treatment field because he loves helping people. He says “every day is different than the day before” and that it is the endless variety of experiences and people that make it so interesting. He has been in the industry for over 30 years, and has been training BHT’s for over 10. He stays busy in his off time reading at the pool or the beach and watching sporting events.
	*Michael Boland, BHT** Michael got into the business to be “helpful to suffering addicts. He has a real gift for intervening when clients feel the affects of post acute withdrawal and want to leave. He helps them see the “insanity” of that, and redirects them back to their seat. He has been in the business for 11 years, and is a self described “sports fanatic.” *BHT – Behavioral Health Technician
	*Marcelious Alexander, CBHT** Marcelious got into the Recovery Field to help people. His goal is to be an asset to our clients and the company. In College, he wanted to work in the criminal justice field, but “decided to switch to Substance Abuse because he felt he could make a more positive impact on our community.” To our patients, he is known as “the rock.” He has been in this field for over 12 years, and is a diehard college football fan. *CBHT – Certified Behavioral Health Technician
	Summer Stewart, AA, BHT Summer says that she enjoys helping others in “any which way” she can and finds the work “fun, exciting and different”. In fact, she wrote: I love what I do, and I do what I love Our clients love her too. She has been in the industry for 5 years, and in when she’s not working she draws, plays sports, video games, paints, designs, sew’s, makes scrap books, reads, writes and builds things. Whew! 	*Carol Armstrong, BHT** Carol got into the Treatment industry because she believes that all people need to be given a chance and be helped. She likes helping people, and is one of the most cheerful people you will ever meet. She has been in the business for over 2 years, and when she’s not working, she is riding motorcycles and spending time with her family. *BHT – Behavioral Health Technician

Recovery First offers several levels of substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation. Our most intensive level of treatment is the Inpatient Substance Abuse Program, but we also have other treatment options for drug addiction and alcoholism like our Day/Night Program or Sober Living.
